Book Review: Lucky Man – Michael J. Fox

After the early 70s I was lucky in love with the cinema in the '80s and one of the great stars who are really caught my attention was born Michael J. Fox anyone, men and women equally appealing. From the first time I saw Marty McFly skateboard around the village green in "Back to the Future" I'm straight with Michael J. Fox, and would for someone who was so cool, my friend loved. Then in 1998 Michael J. Fox went public and the world shocked when he tells of his struggle for years with Parkinson's disease, something he struggled privately for years. But as a fighter he could not beat him and bring me to Fox's memories, "Lucky Man" half and half biography of his struggle with Parkinson's disease.

Something about you "Lucky Man" hits right from the opening pages is that Fox that he wrote, you read his words and the emotions he felt at points in his life and it makes it a very personal and intimate book, as it allows us, in his personal life. And as such, often feels like Fox in the room with you if you like different things about the first signs that something was wrong the whole time, open and honest about it, make fun of things where it feels right to read. But at the same time, as a very personal book, it is less talkative than comparable books, with Fox never throw in something other revelationary to a star, only to shock.

Being A Memoir "Lucky Man" has to follow formula works well when Fox goes on to speak of his childhood to where he was when the book to write. But it is interesting, it is interesting, like a son of a service-man move was not learning for the young Michael J. Fox unusual. And it is also interesting that before finding his passion for acting while in school he really wanted a rock star, the guitar scene in "Back to the Future" you hit once while reading this. But what makes it all so special is that these Fox's own words and his fondness for his family and his flow Nana from his words make you feel privileged to be allowed into the life of a very private people, had to have.

Of course, "Lucky Man" is moving to Fox childhood and will initially cover his rise as Alex on "Family Ties" and his break in movies all the time mixing his acting career with his personal life as he struggled to make it and met Tracy who he would continue to marry. What is quite amazing is the honest look back at the Fox delivers about what fame means to have someone like if he got barely a slap on the hand when he was caught accelerated just because he was a star. It is really touching, that, while a Star Fox is not yet fully understand why someone else should he be treated differently, and it is that on the earth side of him that makes him so lovable.

What is especially nice on "Lucky Man" is that Fox opens up about his personal life, discussing his family, but while still a sense of protectivity when it comes to his private life. It makes a nice change from the celebrity books, where they are only too willing to anything and everything mentioned in the rule in a way revelationary. And at the same time as it is also nice that Fox, with whom he never dishing the dirt has worked in any respects. But at the same time he fills "Lucky Man" with anecdotes like the weirdness of his wedding day when the press would do absolutely anything to try to images.

While Fox does not hold a degree of privacy is one of the surprises in "Lucky Man" when he says his problems with drink, a side many of the star would never have known. He openly admits that he go on a massive drinking binge or drink a bottle of wine with no problems waking up the next day without any idea of what he had done the previous night. Involved in this is the feeling of dealing with a career that begin after such a prominent, with some mediocre films was ailing. As such, you get a real sense that Fox would have easily just another celebrity-statistics, as with drink and a career that was on the wrong way to fight.

But while "Lucky Me" is a memoir of Fox's life as an actor, there is also a report about his battle with Parkinson's disease. He tells about the first signs as he watched another with trembling fingers, he could not control and how things are getting worse. But there is also his report about why while having brain surgery, he chose to keep this private battle and away from the eyes of the public, while still trying to work to ensure the safety of his family, when it no longer be possible would be to act. It is an eye opening account and instructive for those who have never been about someone, come with the disease. But what really works is that Fox does not even have sympathy for the view that he accepts the cards he was dealt and do with it what he can.

All this means that "Lucky Man" is a surprisingly intimate memories with Fox opening about his life, but at the same time still maintain some degree of privacy. It means that it is not a glossy, dishing dirt biography, revels in sensationalist statements, but one which, like Fox would be open to life and encourage those who feel themselves in a similar battle with Parkinson's disease. As I've already mentioned it feels so personal being Fox's own words, that it feels like he is in the room with you as you read it and it makes it even more endearing by the time you've read the last page.
