NCAA Football â? Dealing with the holding at No. 1 in the rankings

Holding at number 1 has a very difficult task among the few teams that have managed to make up the BCS rankings. This week is the turn of the Auburn Tigers to hold onto the top spot. They will play Mississippi this weekend, and may they be to make a way to pass Ole Miss are in a position, the Tigers would probably stay the top of the rankings.

Especially because it still rise a little place in the coaches poll and to continue because they still have a fairly strict schedule, which play a few home games against Chattanooga and Georgia covers. So close the season, they go on to any other then face the rival Alabama. That's a heck of a game that you do not want to miss. Last week, Oklahoma was the No. 1 team. Let's take a look at this for a second. The Sooners had succeeded in their long-time rival of the Texas Longhorns by a 28-20 margin defeat before the boys from Iowa State. Sooners went on again, defeating Iowa State 52-0.

This week, the Sooners came up on the BCS rankings, and then, after a perfect 6-0 record, and they had to go and face the No. 11 ranked Missouri. Missouri and then stomped on the Sooners and defeated them 36-27. Landry Jones, the Sooners quarterback, threw three touchdowns in that game, but was intercepted twice, and that was a fatal step for the Sooners. It was the week before the Ohio State Buckeyes, head of the AP Top 25 Poll and the Coaches Poll were how the BCS rankings had to be given more formally known. But that was not too much a great place for the Buckeyes. At 6-0, the Buckeyes had been to Miami, Florida, Illinois and Indiana are defeated before they make it to the top of the polls.

And then came Wisconsin. And boy oh boy, the Buckeyes remember John Clay, who with Wisconsin for 104 rushing yards and two touchdowns came on their big come-from behind 31-18 victory over Ohio State. The No. 18 Wisconsin had finally beaten a No. 1 team for the first time since 1981. And it was No. 1 and done, the Ohio State Buckeyes. Now, a week before it Alabama, was the Crimson Tide, the defending champion, is ranked as the No. 1 team was. This was the first Numero Uno to go team. And boy was that some bad timing for the Tide.

Up to this point, Alabama was 5-0, with both Arkansas and defeated their long-standing rival, the Florida Gators with a 31-6, bragging that she had one of the best offensive lines in the country. And then came South Carolina. At 35-21, the Crimson Tide victory over USC was one of the nicest surprises in the later story. Stephen Garcia was a brilliant player against the Crimson Tide, with a career best 17 of 20 for 201 yards and three touchdown passes. Yes, there was an interception, but when we look at the game, it was obvious that his listeners simply do not hold onto the ball. The big question now is: can survive Auburn. Can the Tigers are the No. 1 spot and stay there? Do not miss out on the NCAA football action and keep an eye on the best college football betting lines available out there.
