Some people seem to glow in dealing with and overcoming great hardship, while others of us just want the idea. In my own case, a mere broken fingernail interfere strongly myself and rivet my attention, until it can be put down or re-trimmed smooth. That some people seem unable to break with life-threatening health problems and repeated setbacks, without stride Deal is something beyond any imagination to me. How about you? Here are four who have not let adversity stop.

Florida's Sandy Scott was cycling 64 years. About a year later, in his third race, he had a terrible accident in which his neck was broken – one C1 vertebral fracture, a break, which most often is deadly. His doctor advised him, his vertebrae are fused together and give vigorous activity, like running on a bike. Sandy, a former paratrooper and pilot, had other ideas. to heal after nine months of frustrating setbacks and failures, including wearing a neck brace, Sandy was finally healthy enough to get back on his bike.

In the three and a half years since its potentially lethal injuries or paralizing Sandy has polled 12 Florida-state cycling title in the 65-69 and 70-74 age groups, including state records in the 20K time trial in both age groups. Because he does not let adversity stop him is to enjoy Sandy Scott sets new personal best and faster than ever before at the age of 70

A three-pack-a-day cigarette smoking, years smoked had 25, John Fredrickson Texans had highlighted some serious damage to his lungs. When he discovered the damage, including the development of fatal emphysema that was a wake up call. The ex-smokers decided to try on his health and lung function improve and lose some of his excess weight. At first he had trouble even walk half a mile without rest. After three weeks, however, he could run a whole mile and was noticed from his lungs, clear, and his declining poundage, so he stuck with it.

At the age of 53, John ran his first marathon and other only two weeks later. He was hooked. This spring, now a fit and healthy 71-year-old he ran his 104th Marathon. He now enjoys the challenge of seven to eight marathons a year. Think about where would be today John Fredrickson, the quality of his life (if he is still alive) when he filled his lungs, tar can diagnose emphysema and stop him in his tracks.

Last January, Judy Loy ran Houston Houston Marathon in 5 hours 30 minutes, a 0:36 per mile pace. Not bad for a 71-year-old, the five knee operations, three had increased since the Rollerblade enthusiast is 10 years ago. Her doctors say that while they will not run in training for 26.2 Milers (she is running seven) is the therapeutic, after the first six or seven miles of a run, does the natural lubrication of the knee and they stop hurting and begin to feel quite good. As long as they do not run too often to approve of their course and the doctors think it helps arthritic knees operated on. They know that the lack of exercise, what does the most damage to the knees. Because not allow Judy Loy, has launched an operation after another to stop it enjoys you looking for a training and running marathons – and his training novices in a position to launch it, too – by acting as coach and mentor as the Katy Fit Marathon Training Club.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest forms of cancer. This is one reason why 47-year-old Gary Resnick story is so inspiring. In January 2009, Gary was six hours operation to deal with his stage name-3 pancreatic cancer, in which his spleen, part of his pancreas and 19 lymph nodes were removed. This was six months chemotherapy. Gary was not going to let a little malignancy stop him. He would, for example, his goal to keep within reach by the four miles and decided on his cancer treatments, he was in the ING New York City Marathon in Novmeber run from 2009 and finish in under four-and-a-half hours.

In preparation for the race NYC, 29 March little more than two months after his life-saving operation, Gary ran a half Marathon in an impressive (even for a perfectly healthy 47-year-old) two hours and six minutes. In May he improved this time, running a 1:54 half-marathon in another tune-up. Now completely free cancer on 1 November 2009 reached this father of three children, his goal by the NYC Marathon in 4:01:37. Continuing his amazing recovery in April 2010, he ran Boston in 4:00:30 or 9:11 / mile. In 2009 alone in dealing with this lousy hand life had dealt him, Gary ran 17 races and in the process, he raised about, 000 for cancer research.

Sandy Scott, John Fedrickson, Judy Loy and Gary Resnick give us hope. They show us that we are straight into the face of adversity and know that we did not, so our troubles get the better of us. How these four heroes inspiring, not only do we overcome all sorts of adversity, but we can choose to shine through.
