Several Track and Field Girl Athletes demonstrate their sport Great guides and Substance

Two separate events recently demonstrated once again how incredibly impressive our young women in the U.S., an instance of pure sportsmanship at its best beone, and the other an instance of pure desire, determination and substance.
The first event at the Washington State Class 4a Girls Track & Field Championship's venue Pasco, and the operation of the 3,200-meter race with Nicole Cochran, Bellarmine Prep outstanding middle distance runner.
Cochran won the event in 10:36, which is for Shadle Park Andrea Nelson by three seconds. Thirty minutes later stewards disqualified Cochran, and decided that the Harvard-bound runner ran three consecutive steps in the lane next to her. Bellarmine Prep coach Matt Ellis put his injury, but his appeal was denied.
The infraction happened on the first day to do justice, and Cochran was visibly upset, because they knew they did not commit the transgression. In addition, the Cochran defended national champion, won both the 1,600 and 3,200 titles as a junior.
Never seemed to be following the devastating news, and the sheer injustice of it all. On the second day of competition led to the Cochran 1600 and was gunned down in the last round, when it's Oak Harbor Mietra Smollack out win came in the final corner in 4:56:44. Cochran 4th Place.
Later in the afternoon, the 800 meters and finished Cochran dead last ran in 2:24:40. "I did not just hang with them, and the kind of gave up after 450 meters," Cochran said a dejected.
Despite Cochran's losing points, their team-mates were incensed to the law and rose to the occasion by winning the team title with 76.5 points to second place of the 65 Gig Harbor.
"I have put considerable effort in the 3,200," said Cochran, "and then there was the emotional toll afterward, sitting here an hour long, while they found out the 3200, which was a shame because I was not met in the wrong and I was punished for them. "
In a show of pure sportsmanship, when was the official winner of the race 3200 Andrea Nelson awarded her first place of metal on the podium moments later, she gave her first place medal Cochran. Redmond's Sarah Lord followed Nelson, followed by second place medal and other medals.
"It gave me goose bumps" said Cochran. "It shows how much respect distance runners have for each other."
And now the story after the story: Ten days after that eventful afternoon, again, the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association Cochran as the rightful winner, alleging reverse charge made by race officials.
Mike Colbrese, Executive Director of WIAA reviewed video of the race, it showed Cochran's teammate who ran off the track, and that the officials, the report also identifies incorrect lap time in question, Round 7, when the violation occurred actually at the Lap 6th So much so that President botched effort.
The officials were completely wrong on the day of the race, but they were absolutely sure they were right and also for on race day. The cat will mew and the dog has its day (from Shakespeare's "Hamlet," which means, Act 5, Scene 1, "a particular person historic moment is inevitable), or as I like to say:" right "takes place.
The second event at the Texas State 1A Girls Track & Field Championship Meet in Austin, where Rochelle High School won the team title happened. So, what is so unusual, you ask? Just this: Rochelle exactly qualified to meet an athlete for the state, and she won the state title for their team around.
Meet Bonnie Richardson, a study in desire, determination and substance than any other girl athlete in Texas high school history.
Richardson, whose first name second only could his talent, spent Friday winning the high jump at 5 feet 5 inches, placed second in the long jump at 18-7, and the third in the discus at 121-0.
On Saturday, Richardson strolled about pulling off the track in the scorching heat of the high-90 degree heat of Texas and promptly won the 200-meter dash in 25.03 and the follow-up effort by almost a huge upset in the 100 before the second Place in 12.19 to defending champion Kendra Coleman of Santa Ana.
"Kendra and I have struggled all year," said Richardson. "I was amazed I stayed with her. I do not think I was so fast." Yes, Bonnie Richardson, "Are you seem so fast.
Thus the show had to steal in Richardson Texas? No, they just earned her team the title by the State itself. University Interscholastic League officials could not remember a girl ever to win a state team title from him.
It happened before meeting the boy in the state championship, when the former Bear and Pittsburgh Steeler Frank Balyor Pollard has for Meridian Highs School in the 1970s, said UIL Athletics Director Charles Breithaupt.
Many girls outstanding athletes dominated state meets, but few ever cross over from the sprints to the field events with Richardson's success, said Beithaupt. "The way they did is really impressive." This is of course what everyone was thinking to see it happen there.
And the kicker? It turns out that Rochelle High School has to practice is not even a trace. When Richardson was asked how she sees train, she jokingly replied: "Make available on potholes," and added: "We have a track about 10 miles down the road and train there usually."
Richardson's coach, Jym Dennis, suspected she could be something special to the state to do justice, but wisely stayed quiet, not wanting to put any pressure on his prize athlete. Last year, Richardson won the state long jump title, but no medal in high jump and discus.
And the great good fortune for additional Rochelle High School? Bonnie Richardson is a junior.
Richardson also competes in tennis team and led Rochelle Rochelle's basketball team to the state semifinals last season.
"I'd play football if my parents would let me," Richarson said, adding: "Not quarterback. Defense." Sounds like my kind of girlspunky, competitive and ready to settle all issues on the battlefield.
Lou Holtz, one of the legendary college football coaches, was famous for many quotes, including this: "When all is said and done, more is said than done." Somehow I think Lou Holtz would have been a huge admirer of Bonnie Richardson, and her extraordinary performance on this hot afternoon, Texas, as she single-handedly delivered a state title to Rochelle High School.
And there you have it: Nicole Cochran, every girl on the medal stand for the 3,200-meter ceremony, Cochran's team-mate, and Bonnie Richardson, all ordinary young women who did extraordinary things because they could and would.
