According to justice.gov, "Red Ribbon Week is the nation's oldest and largest drug prevention program in the United States." Red Ribbon Week takes place every year during the last week of October. It is an amazingly useful time in the war on drugs. Students around the nation wear red ribbons to symbolize their stance against drugs. It seems like almost everyone knows a family member, or another family who has been affected by drug abuse. Red Ribbon Week works to eliminate future generations of drug use. Kids are more easily influenced, and Red Ribbon Week helps to influence kids in a positive way.

Promoting Red Ribbon Week effort should be a joint. Every school should participate in Red Ribbon Week, and parents should support the effort at home too. Joining the fight against drugs is easy. There are great online sources Which Provide drug prevention promotional items. For example, anti-drug wristbands are great tools in the fight against drugs. These multicolored wristbands make drug prevention look cool. Kids will love wearing them and everytime they look at the wristband, the positive message will be reinforced. These wristbands can be given out during Red Ribbon Week and then used throughout the year.

Red Ribbon Week may be celebrated the last week in October, but the message is important year round. Taking advantage of promotional items like pencils, stickers, and more show children the importance of the message. Children need to be taught the dangers of drug use early on. These ribbons reinforce a very important message. Drugs ruin lives. Protecting children from the dangers of drugs is critical.
