Avenged Sevenfold Drummer The Rev Dead at Home

The Rev - Avenged Sevenfold Dead James Owen Sullivan aka The Rev, Avenged Sevenfold drummer seemed to have died a natural death. The Rev has left family, friends and fans in shock today – many of them are just learning of the news this morning. Sullivan is survived by wife Leana MacFadden aka Leana Silver and died at his home in Southern California.

Sullivan served both as a singer and drummer of Avenged Sevenfold that much fame and recognition achieved in 2005 with their album City Of Evil.

Reuters reports that "The Rev seemed to have died of natural causes, said Huntington Beach police Lt. John Domingo, the Orange County Register. He was 28th the Orange County Coroner's Office will be investigated, the paper said."

A statement on the band's website reads: "It is with great sadness and heavy heart that we say to you today passing of Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan. Jimmy was not only one of the world's greatest drummer, but more importantly he was our best friend and brother. Our thoughts and prayers go to Jimmy's family and we hope that you respect their privacy at this difficult time. Jimmy you are forever in our hearts. We love you. "

The Rev was a co-founder of the band that began in 1999. As any readers of Metal Hammer, the band will know, was for her drug-taking and other activities infamous rock and roll, but have recently tried to live his reputation for debauchery. Reuters said that "Sullivan, particularly the high brow after a 2006 cover story in Metal Revolver Magazine, had described his fondness for cocaine and other drugs."

Avenged Sevenfold Avenged Sevenfold is an American heavy metal band founded in 1999. The current members are M. Shadows Zacky Vengeance, The Reverend Tholomew Plague, Synyster Gates and Johnny Christ.

Their debut album Sounding the Seventh Trumpet (2001) was released when the band members were only eighteen years old and after the release of their second album Waking the Fallen (2003) was the band to Warner Brothers Records.

Their first release under the new label was 2005, the City Of Evil , a total of more melodic record, veering away from the screaming vocals of their first two releases. The album reached No.30 on the Billboard charts, supported by the success of the single "Bat Country".

For most of the year 2006 she undertook a world tour, but she picked the dates for fall and winter, indicating that it is working on her new album next Avenged Sevenfold , slated for release in October 2007.

Avenged Sevenfold were currently working on her new album, due for release in 2010.
