COMEDY CENTRAL, new premiere sports show "Sports Show with Norm Macdonald:" In April 2011

Kent Alterman, director of original programming and production, Comedy Central announced that the network picked up "sports show with Norm Macdonald" and put an 8-episode order for the show. The series is managing director of Macdonald, Marc Gurvitz, Lori Jo Hoekstra and Jack Hole Productions' Daniel Kellison be made. Jim Sharp and husband Gary are the executives in charge of production for COMEDY CENTRAL.

"Sports Show with Norm Macdonald," is scheduled to begin production this month and is expected to premiere in April.

"Sports Show with Norm Macdonald" Macdonald will feature unique and comedic take on current and controversial stories from the world of sport. Taped before a live studio audience, is the fast-paced and informative show covers all sports – from popular to obscure – is delivered with unforgettable style Macdonald, recalled its hugely popular run as "SNL" Weekend Update anchor.

"Norm has the uncanny ability to say what I do not even realize I was thinking," said Alterman.

A staple in the comedy world, Macdonald is best for his unusual delivery of messages as Weekend Update anchor on well-known "Saturday Night Live." MacDonald joined the cast of "SNL" in 1993 and remained on the show for five seasons, where his impressions of Larry King, Burt Reynolds, David Letterman and Bob Dole, among others, are still spoken about today.

Born in Quebec City, Canada began Macdonald's career as a stand-up comedian and made his way to Los Angeles where he was a writer on the ABC hit series "Roseanne" and then to the lead role in ABC's "The Norm Show" from 1999 2,001th Macdonald credits include co-writing and starring in "Dirty Work", intonation Lucky the dog in all three Eddie Murphy remake of "Doctor Dolittle" and appeared in "Billy Madison", "The People vs. Larry Flynt" and "Man on the Moon, "among others.
