Discount Medspa – Botox DIY Site Shut Down By FDA

discount-medspa-Laurie-D-Alleva Laurie D'Alleva, creator of the site called Discount Medspa (discountmedspa.com), who had sold himself, a drug similar to Botox, and some other questionable cosmetic treatments, before the FDA found and the site was recently closed. The drug-reduction surgery, also has the nickname "the freeze." Imagine ordering something that promises to literally freeze your face, without the security of a physician's knowledge and supervision. No, it's all in your hands. But Ms. D'Alleva has kindly even filmed a needle stuck in their own end and put it on YouTube, to help direct all of these wobbly-handed new customers trying to freezing, want their own faces. A customer blogged own instructions on how to put a smile on her face: "The trick to this is to hold a pencil at the corner of one side of the mouth and spray two units Freeze at the bottom of the chin. This will result in [sic] appear very end of your mouth. Then do the other side the same way. If you do not get it yourself you may have a wry smile, be very careful that the injection placed in exactly the same place as the other side will be. "Another proposal is wise of her" watch YouTube.com and learn a lot from some of the doctors [sic] secrets relaxing your face so you want to look like. "

Dysport is actually a legitimate drug, the FDA cleared in the U.S. a few months ago, but it, like Botox, is a prescription drug and can not legally be prescribed by someone other than a doctor or a nurse. Dysport is the first competitor to the famous Botox, which is the most popular cosmetic treatment in the U.S., according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. In 2008 alone, doctors performed more than 2.4 million Botox procedures.

I'm sure many people out there would argue that if they get Botox before they will know what they do, that the risk is their own and they are willing to take that risk, etc. And although discount Medspa was shut down, people are determined and probably will find another way to get the drug. But if there is even a possibility that if you do not do the right thing "then you may have a wry smile," or you can splash about and end up with a puffy, swollen, and then frozen face, then ask themselves: Is it really worth it?
