Dr. Swearingen grew up in Northern California. He went through high school in Red Bluff and graduated from the University of California at San Francisco Dental School in 1975.

To an even better dentist, he followed that with an optional residency program at Balboa Hospital in San Diego. He practiced family dentistry in the U.S. Navy for four years, while Atsugi, Japan on a U.S. Naval Air Base deployed.

In 1980 he began his career in the civil Citrus Heights and has practiced there ever since. Dr. Swearingen has developed a thriving practice based on the provision of dental services of the highest quality. He has always taken much all the requirements for continuing education and in recent years has passed numerous courses at the world famous Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. As a result, he has to be careful as part of a select group of dentists in Northern California in a position to state-of-the-art cosmetic procedures.

Dr. Swearingen is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. He is also an accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (916) 966-1175 and a member of the Sacramento District Dental Society.
Dr. Swearingen lives with his wife Robyn, in Granite Bay, California. They enjoy many activities together and are loyal fans Sacramento Kings. They especially enjoy their relationships with their children and grandchildren.
Dr. Swearingen enjoys his job enormously and often says he "would do it for nothing if it were possible."
