Urban Meyer Would be Stepping Down

urban meyer Urban Meyer would increase as the head coach of the Gator football team. Meyer, the two national titles and three SEC East titles has won in his five years in Florida, leaves with the highest percentage gain in the history of football and Gator a career 56-10 mark. In nine years as head coach at Bowling Green, Utah and Florida, Meyer's career track was 95-18.

Meyer, now 45 years old, is 32-8 all-time in the SEC, and, against his Gators to a perfect start in the 2009 season 12-0, losing to Alabama in the SEC title game on the first weekend in December. As part of this game was Meyer in the hospital and he now appeals his health as the reason that he chosen to step down as football coach has Florida.

The Florida Gators, which recently expanded their defensive coordinator, Charlie lost heavily, at the University of Louisville, play on New Year's Eve against the Cincinnati Bearcats. In the meantime, the shock of the sudden departure Meyer's will not be felt for months if not years.

In the GatorZone website where the official version, said Meyer as follows:
"I have my heart and soul into coaching and mentoring young men for college football the last 24 plus years and I have most of my waking moments of the last five years, dedicated to the Gator football program," Meyer , 45, said in the statement. "I've ignored my health for years, but recent developments have forced me to reassess my priorities of faith and family again.

"After consulting with my family, Dr. Machens, Jeremy Foley, and my doctors, I think it's in my best interest to step aside and focus on my health and family." "I am proud to be a part of the Gainesville community and the nation Gator and I plan to stay in Gainesville and involved with the University of Florida."
