How should Christians respond to Ground Zero mosque dispute?

"O believers! Take not the Jews or Christians as friends. But they are friends of each other. If one of you takes them for his friends, he is certainly one of them, Allah will not guide such evildoers."

The Koran (3:28) also –

"Let not believers take disbelievers [non-Muslims] for their friends rather than believers: who does this has nothing to hope from Allah – except, yes, you fear them, fear … Whether you're in what to hide your breasts, or if you publish abroad, Allah knows it. "
